Parametric Shower Drain Cover

I decided to try out the parametric design feature in Maker World and I came up with a shower drain cover that can be customized for maximum water flow while achieving better hair trapping. All I wanted is to avoid unnecessary clogs in the pipes, and it works.

This design can produce round and square covers that would fit most of the shower drain systems in US. I only printed and tested US shower models, but I believe I added enough parameters to generate covers that would fit all kind of random setups. 

You can add screw holes, tabs and lip for support, and customize the hole sizes and hole coverage.

I printed with Bambu PETG and Bambu PLA and tested both for 30 days before sharing this with the community. They look good in gray and so far, they look like new even if used daily.

Believe it or not, I didn't throw away the covers I printed for testing with different customization settings, those covers are now repurposed as drink coasters for my office desk :)

Recommendation: I strongly recommend the use of glue stick or liquid glue to ensure the holes are printed correctly. I was able to print without glue on a Bambu Cool Plate SuperTack, but the best quality was achieved with glue.

I added a print profile with a few sizes of popular cover models that should fit standard showers drains.

#1. Round drain cover, diameter 107.92 mm or 4 1/4 in, height 1.15 mm, tabs height 4mm

#2. Square drain cover, length 4 in, lip height 19.8 mm

#3. Round drain cover, diameter 101.6 mm or 4in, height 1.15 mm, screw hole distance 85.72, screw hole diameter 4.2mm, screw head diameter 7.6mm, screws: countersunk 8-32 x 1/2in
