Description
Al-ḥamdu li-l-lāh (Arabic : ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّٰهِ, « God be praised », literally, « praise to Allah »1) is an expression of thanksgiving, primarily used by Muslims. The recitation of al hamdu li-lah is called Tahmid. It is widely used due to its presence in the Quran where it appears five times, three times at the beginning of a sura and twice in the body of a sura1, and in particular in the second verse of the first sura, Al-Fatiha.
