Description

UPDATE: It appears that Worx have region-specific differences that means - amongst other things - their battery designs vary from country to country.

This mount is based on the UK PowerShare battery shape / dimensions. The mount does not appear to be compatible with the US PowerShare batteries. The US variant has six contacts (as opposed to four) and different dimensions.

(Thanks to @user_1424110232 for highlighting this issue - and for his understanding.)

I'll compile a list of supported regions, below, as feedback on successful prints comes in.

The UK batteries look like this (WA3553 20V 4.0Ah battery shown, but the smaller WA3551 2.0Ah has the same connector dimensions):

A battery mount for up to three Worx 20V PowerShare batteries (images show mix of 2.0 Ah and 4.0 Ah batteries.)

The battery mount is designed to be screwed to a wall or under a shelf. It has flexible fixing slots.

Note that this is simply a solution for conveniently storing batteries, it obviously doesn't have any capability for charging or integrating with Worx chargers.

Printing:

It does not required supports. It is provided as a two-colour print (main body, plus orange stripe), though can be printed in a single colour by simply editing the object colours.

Just printed this and unfortunately it doesn’t fit any of my Worx PowerShare batteries. None of them even come close to fitting in the hanging slots. Good idea, but seems I’ve wasted a bunch of filament at this point. I’ll hold off on rating this until I give you a chance to respond and tell me if I’ve done something wrong.

Really sorry about this. I appreciate you asking ahead of rating. As you can see from the photos I have successfully printed the mount on an X1C using PETG filament and use it, no issues. My models/profiles are generally highly rated so I’m keen to fix any problems. Can you please tell me what printer and materials you’re using, and what method you used for printing. Did you use the settings in the profile, unchanged? If you can perhaps send a photo it might help me understand what’s going on. A measurement of the overall width of the print would be useful, and/or some idea of how the batteries don’t fit. Are you using the 20V PowerShare batteries? Sorry about all the questions but I want to understand the issue and understand whether there is an issue with the published profile.

Thanks for the quick response Steve. It printed just fine on my P1S. As I shopped some of the other items similar to yours, I found this to be a recurring issue with almost all of them. It seems there is a difference between Worx batteries in the United States (where I'm located) and the rest of the world. I don't know where you are from or if your print profile is for those "foreign" batteries, but that would probably explain the size issue. LOL, nothing wrong with your print profile or my batteries it would appear. To answer your questions, I printed directly from your profile without changing anything. I have a multitude of 20V PowerShare batteries that I tried. It appears that the charging base on mine are thicker than the configuration of your holder profile. I'm now assuming that the issue relates to the battery design being different in different countries as I have read that some have 6 charging slots and others have 4. Once again, thanks for the quick response and attentiveness. Best of luck...Tim

Thanks a lot for the info. I've updated the entry to show a picture of the supported UK (at least) battery to note that it doesn't support the US batteries. Looking at the various regional Worx websites there look to be a number of differences region by region. They obviously tune the products for each region and don't worry about inter-country support (fair enough, but annoying nonetheless for the global 3D printing community!) Oh, and thanks again for your help and understanding!
