Description

I noticed the motor on my singer 968 sewing machine was overheating a lot and making a unpleasant noise when sewing. When taking apart the motor, I found that the original fan that was in the motor disintegrated as most plastic parts do after 10-20+ years, so I decided to print a replacement fan that  as is necessary to provide cooling but also to act as a spacer for the actual motor shaft (which is what I suspect to be the cause of the unpleasant noise)

I would recommend printing this in ABS but from what I've heard I cannot print ABS on the A1, so I decided to print it in PETG, If you can print it in ABS I think it should last longer, I do not recommend printing it in PLA, as the motor gets quite hot despite the addition of the fan and may cause the fan to warp, leading to the motor being less balance (making the machine shake more), at least from my experience.

DISCLAIMER:

It is supposed to be a very tight fit (for the 6mm shaft). So don't worry it could take a little more effort to put on, this was mainly because I was worried it could slip since the original fan seem to have some sort of glue to stick it to the shaft, but I did not have it on hand nor did I know what type of glue i should've used, so from how i put it on, I first put the fan blades pointing in (Towards the stator), to widen the hole, then took it out and put it on the right way, the washers that are there should go on after the fan

Ive included the STL file so any edits for any other types of sewing machine motors can be done
