Description

A quick model I made for the Sunlu S2 Filament Dryer to solve 2 issues I had :

  • The filament exit pre-drilled by Sunlu are poorly placed : they are orientated radially, so they are never good, neither for a full nor an empty spool
  • Like the others I found that the moisture stayed inside the dryer, and that a small ventilation was required, usually solved while keeping the lid a bit opened

So I made a model that clips on the lower part of the dryer (stays in place by lightly pinching the lip) so it will not pop out as soon as you touch the dryer, and that create a small ventilation area on each side (just the necessary opening).

The spacer integrated a counterbored hole for a dia4mm PTFE tube, with a better orientation than the original (a happy medium between a spool of 80mm when empty and 200mm when full).

I have used it for quite a while now for filaments not compatible with the AMS and also with my previous printer, I completely forgot about it so I am just posting it now in case someone would find it as convenient as me. Print it in PETG to be sure it will keep its shape!

Looks like they changes the S2 design. Doesn't really work for the version I just bought, because the flap seems to be redesigned.

Oh no! The model is supposed to rest on the lower side, not on the casing by the way

well yes but obviously that doesn’t work. I just thought I would sent a picture of it not fitting.

Very nice and simple design. However, I revised it again so that an ECAS04 PTFE connector fits perfectly

Can you upload a remix of your version?

Great stuff, I just removed the sunlu logo to keep it simple in the front, I think that adding a profile without one would get You more downloads in this model Anyways - thanks! Edit: Forgot to write that in the comment - PTFE tube fits like a glove, printing straight from the dryer also without issues

If you have a Sunlu S2 and haven’t printed this, what are you doing? 😉This makes a drastic difference in drying! 🤩 The dryer gets down to 28% relative humidity with this model, and goes up once I take the print out. Fitment is awesome, and the PTFE tube hole is also very handy. 👌🏻 Overall an amazing model! Thanks for this! 😁 10/10 Essential print 💯 (Printed in Bambu Lab Ivory White PLA Matte)
