Description

Tired of traditional mouse traps that harm rodents or fail to contain them? Meet The Mouse Motel, a 3D-printed, no-kill catch-and-release trap designed with durability and compassion in mind. Inspired by see-saw style traps but improved for real-world use, this humane trap is perfect for animal lovers and DIY enthusiasts alike.

Key Features:

  • Chew-Proof Design: With 5mm-thick walls and strategically placed ventilation, this trap is built to last longer than other models. Mice may still escape eventually (think of it as a safety feature!), but they’ll have a much harder time chewing through.
  • Easy to Check: Designed for frequent monitoring, this trap helps minimize the time mice spend inside, keeping them healthier (if not happier) until release.
  • Modular & Printable: All parts can be printed separately, including spare levers—the most vulnerable part of the trap. Assembly is simple and hassle-free.
  • Humane & Eco-Friendly: Relocate mice safely and ethically without harm. Perfect for those who value kindness and sustainability.

Why Choose The Mouse Motel?

After testing several see-saw style traps, I designed this model to address common issues like durability and ease of use. Whether you’re dealing with a single mouse or a full-blown infestation, this trap is a reliable, reusable solution that puts animal welfare first.

A Note for Users:

  • Place the trap in areas where you’ll remember to check it regularly.
  • Release mice at least a mile away from your home to prevent their return.
  • I use left over filament for the clips I clone them and print them in object mode on a seperate plate great way to use up those spare rolls

About the Designer:

This is my very first 3D model, and I’m thrilled to share it with the community! If you like the design and want to encourage more projects like this, please give me a boost or leave a review. Your support means the world to me!
Here is a Video I made to make it a little clearer how it works.
