Description

Another Wicked inspired model at the request of my daughter. This time Glinda's wand! Printed tested on my Bambu X1C

This is a two piece print where the pieces slide together as a tight fit so no glue or supports required. Depending on the filament you use or your build plate you may need to modify the thickness of the pieces before printing for the pieces to fit correctly. Scale JUST the thickness (or z distance), NOT the whole model, to your liking.

I tested the 100% scale print in regular PLA and a textured build plate. Fit worked for me. When I printed in translucent PLA, I preferred to scale the thickness or z distance to 99.5% to make it slightly easier to put together and still stay without glue. I didn't get to test on other filament types, plate types, or printers so if someone does I would love your feedback on fit and settings! I would expect something like glitter filament would need a slightly thinner pieces…

For reference, for those familiar with fit dimensions, the slot on the wand is set to 0.200" in the model and the thickness on the wand is 0.195" for the 100% scale.

Infill is currently set to octagram spiral because I thought that looked coolest with the translucent filament. Honeycomb also looks kind of like bubbles if you are looking at printing in translucent.
