Safety Notice

This model is a Balisong-style trainer/prop designed for practicing flipping tricks, hand coordination, and skill-based fidget use.

It is not a knife, not a weapon, and not designed for cutting, stabbing, striking, impact, or any harmful use. Do not use it against people, animals, or objects.

Safety Measures

This model includes constructive safety limitations. The geometry and material strength are designed for the intended trainer/prop function at the original scale.

This model is not a real knife, not a weapon part, and is not designed or suitable for use as a weapon.

What's New?

Visually, the design hasn't changed much, but functionally, there are some key improvements:

Longer handles – They now have space for 2 x 4x2mm magnets at the end of each handle, allowing for better weight distribution.
Blade adjustment – The original blade shape remains mostly unchanged, but now there's space for up to 12 x 6x2mm magnets to fine-tune the weight.
Customizable balancing – Thanks to the magnets, you can adjust the weight to your preference, making it a perfectly balanced Balisong for practice.

My Preferred Setup 🎯

🔹 Blade: 2 magnets in the first hole, 1 magnet in the second, leaving holes 3 and 4 empty, placing another magnet in hole 5, and leaving the last hole empty.
🔹 Handles: One 4x2mm magnet at the end of each handle for improved balance.

The Perfect Stand 📌

To keep my models organized, I designed two stands:
🛠 One for three knives – great if you have multiple versions.
🛠 One for a single knife – perfect for minimalists.
Both stands ensure your Balisongs don’t end up lying around—and they look awesome too!

Assembly Guide & Tip

As you can see, there's not much to explain! Once you've found the correct blade position (I recommend assembling it while it's folded), simply insert a piece of filament directly from the spool and slightly melt the ends with heat—just as shown in the GIF

My Experience with the Hobby 🔄

I’m still new to this hobby and only know a few basic moves—but I have to say: It’s incredibly fun! 🌀 A Balisong is probably the ultimate fidget toy of the 80s and 90s.

Of course, my printed knife is made from PLA, which comes with some typical downsides:
Lighter than metal models
Higher tolerances compared to CNC-machined versions

However, it serves its purpose well: you can practice with it before committing to a high-quality metal Balisong. Personally, this printed version is more than enough for me—but I have to admit, I’d love to try a metal one to see how much worse mine actually is! 😆

💡 If anyone knows a good, budget-friendly metal Balisong for beginners, I’m all ears! 🎧
