Description
Slay the Spire (Retail and Deluxe Edition):
I love Deckbuilder and by chance I saw a video of Slay The Spire and then watched a Let's Play - I had to have it!
Since I suffer from board game addiction and if I want something it always has to be the deluxe version and everything that comes with it. Since I also suffer from crafting sickness, I had to buy both versions to create a design for both.
But here I must also praise the manufacturer. The inserts are really good - OK, the game comes with sleeves as mechanics, so the cards fit sleeved into the insert. If that hadn't been the case, I would have thought the game came from Portal Games :-) Anyway, the insert is good, but when I saw the Let's Plays and the rules explanation, I realized that you have to sort a lot again and so I had to get an insert. Since I only play games when I have an insert for them (3rd mental illness) and I want to play this game as soon as possible, I preferred the design to everything else.
The goals were:
1. each player gets a box - preferably somehow with the cards sorted and all the material the player needs.
2. the market must be easily removable as boxes
3. all acts and other matching cards must be in one box each.
4. the upper part of the insert is really very good. The retail version is even better than the Collectors Edition - I wonder why there aren't 2 places for dice and tokens and no recess for the large HP counter. Anyway - the aim was to keep the upper part for both versions.
Point 1:
As you can see, each player has his own box - divided into the loot (normal and rare) and the starting card hand, whereby this box is also used to save the game, so it is higher and can hold more cards. The miniature is also integrated and the cubes and any tokens that only this character uses are stored in small boxes. Take them out, put them down and start playing.
As I still had exactly 9mm of space and didn't know how to use it and I didn't want to make thick walls for the player boxes, I made 2 holders for each player where you can put the small relic cards so that you can keep an eye on them. During testing, however, it turned out that from the 4th card onwards the part falls over and so I installed a small lever under the holders, which you can simply turn around and thus provides a stand to the rear and then the part no longer falls over even with large cards. To put it back in the boxes, you turn the lever back and then everything fits in terms of dimensions.
Point 2: I think you can see this clearly in the pictures. The cards are sorted in exactly the same way as on the market tableau. However, you can use the boxes as a replacement for the tableau and turn the top cards over and insert them - this gives you a good overview. But I also wanted to integrate the board from the market and the player aid and since there was enough space, I added a stand slot at the back of the marketplace so you can easily place the board there.
Point 3: I think you can see it well. Each type of card has its own box. The stack of cards with Stop too. Of course, I spoiled myself and designed all the boxes so that you have space for them when the new cards are activated. All cards are naturally sleeved - in my case with Gamegnic Matte Premium sleeves. The sleeves supplied with the game are larger and everything is designed according to their dimensions. The large cards (boss cards) are very tight in terms of height in the trays when they are sleeved - just a hint.
Under the market trays there is another box where I put the remaining sleeves, the card separators (which I don't use), the zip bags, the bag of metal coins and the superfluous tokens, because I printed the tokens from 3D as you can see. The three key tokens that I didn't print are also stored here. I have them in 3D, but putting the text of the tokens in there is pointless.
Point 4:
In both versions(Retail and Collectors Edition) the lower part of the insert is identical and the amount of material is also the same. You can therefore use my insert for both versions. For the Collectors Edition, I have only added small boxes at the top so that you can store the cubes, dice and tokens easily. If you also have the Marketplace Playmat, you can simply place it on top, it will fit.
Token box: Because the tokens don't all have to go in the original token box, as some of them are stored in the player boxes, you can also use the box for 3D printed tokens and metal coins - there's enough space.
The 3D printed tokens are not mine and you won't find them here in the download either. Just search on Cults3D, you'll find what you're looking for.
The longest part to be printed measures 202mm.
If something has to be printed several times, this is stated in the file name. Everything without a and number after it must be printed once. Otherwise it says _x2 or _x4 and means print 2 or 4 times.
Language-relevant files are marked with GER or ENG at the end of the file name. GER for the German texts and ENG for the English texts.
This is the English Version of the Insert. I also uploaded an German Version of the Insert here.
