Description

This falafel mold size is 45mm by 17.5mm deep, for medium size similar to traditional ones, perfect for getting the inside cooked enough without over browning the outside. The total hight of this model is 122.5mm for a better grip.

Printing:

  • Best to print on smooth build plate so patties can slide off easier. Slightly sand off any extra elephant foot.
  • Print mold with supports only around the rim of the handle as shown in the photo where supports are painted in green. The Printer will print support lines (as in photo). Also sand off any inside elephant foot for free movement.
  • Spring only needs supports to stabilize it while printing at higher layers. I did mine with 0.12 Layer height. (You could also choose no spring)
  • Insert spring into mold followed by piston and then insert lever into piston through side opening in the mold handle.

Don't forget to poke the center of the patties before ejecting…

Note!: A 3D printed spring can not fully replace a real spring, but this works okay, especially if you have good layer adhesion. The spring is designed by @janne, and has been remixed to fit.

Disclaimer: 3D prints are not considered food safe due to possible contamination, and the fact that layers are prone to bacteria growth.
