Hello everyone,

Here is my design for an ant spiral tower runway, this variant is designed for leafcutter ants. This model is intended to bridge different heights, if you are looking for a simple runway extension I recommend my other model:

https://makerworld.com/en/models/1367013-spiral-tower-extension-for-leafcutters#profileId-1412843

The spiral is somewhat steeper to accommodate larger leaves, and the end caps now fit a 32mm pipe; I have also uploaded an adapter for 50mm pipe. For other species that do not need to transport such large “prey,” my other model is more suitable:

https://makerworld.com/en/models/988215#profileId-963315

Each spiral is always 10cm long and can be extended as desired; for each tower you need to print two end caps, at least one spiral, and a top closure. The design is for a 50mm acrylic pipe, which you then need to cut to your size. It is best to assemble all components and then measure. If necessary, you can also glue the individual parts, but once everything is assembled, it usually holds together.

Here is the link for the 50mm acrylic pipes I use: https://www.acrylic-store.de/acrylglas-rohr-xt-flc-50mm-wl.html

Diameter: 50mm (DN40)(1 1/2")
Wall thickness approx 2.5mm

Currently, I only have end caps with one outlet each; more are in the works.

I have included a print profile with spiral pieces of varying heights; these allow you to better adjust the tower to a specific height. A wall mount has also been uploaded. I will add a base later.

Have fun printing, I would of course appreciate photos of your variations ;)

For questions, just write to me.

Perhaps someone might also give me a boost :)
