Link's Smashable Pot

A perfect tribute for fans who’ve always dreamed of breaking a pot in real life (without defacing public property), this smashable pot brings The Legend of Zelda’s iconic guilty pleasure to life! Inspired by the classic breakable pots scattered across Hyrule, this model is held together by neodymium magnets, allowing it to break effortlessly into 8 satisfying pieces—just like after a well-aimed roll or swing. 

Tips from Prototyping: 

For a bit of added fun, we highly recommend filling your pot with Crafty Sven’s oversized Rupees (as shown in the photos), they look incredible, and it’s a blast trying to toss them into the reassembled pot! Also, for ultimate nostalgia, we recommend printing the pot in a wood filament. Doing this perfectly recreates that classic breaking sound, found in the LoZ, as the pot is being smashed!

Tips for Building:

This file includes pre-made magnet holes, but depending on your printer, you may need to drill out minor imperfections to ensure a proper fit. As noted above, this model requires 50 3mm x 2mm Neodymium Disc Magnets—I've linked the exact ones we used below!

To secure the magnets in place, we used Super Glue, which is also linked for your convenience. Allow for a minimum of 6 hours for the glue to set before connecting the pot pieces together.

Also, if you’re looking to recreate our exact pot, we used Bambu Labs’ PLA Wood in Clay Brown for the print!
