My son wanted to print a dice tower that he saw. We had just been printing random mechanisms and gears to spur invention, and had printed some open/close iris mechanisms. So we thought lets merge these ideas. It actually turned out quite well!

 FOLD over the iris pieces

Place them in the 12 tower slots

SLIP THEM IN after you get to about 8 or 9 and close the circle, then kind of shimmy it in so that they are overlapping

Then lay on the actuator (with the tab all the wat to the left or as far clockwise as possible). Use something to make sure all the nubs get into the holes of the actuator.

Screw on the top of the castle and enjoy.

printed perfect first try. I printed in opaque white, then transitioned to translucent filament for potential lighting later. used provided print profile settings without modifications.

came out pretty well, very sturdy and the iris is a cool feature compared to the other versions! only thing I can recommend is using a smooth plate for the flaps in the iris mechanism might make it a little smoother to operate , I used textured plate and while it all works I think it’d be smoother without the texture. awesome print though

Love the trap door function! A few iffy areas, but likely due to my inexperience. Thanks for the file!

Would printing at 90-95% compromise the mechanics of the trap door?

I tried to make the 'iris' pieces a little thicker when I designed this so that maybe it would work if someone tried that. But I'm not sure whether it would work or not because I haven't tried actually printing it.

It did ok! I printed at 95% so it would fit on my printer. Opening and closing is a little rough, likely my error, so I may try printing them in a different filament. A bit of a bad spot at the top of the door, boulders, and top of the castle, but again that's likely my inexperience. Thank you for the upload!

Printed in clear filament as I want to add lighting around it. Very clean print. I used all the recommended settings from the provided profile on my X1C, and used Sunlu transparent PLA filament. Everything printed well on first try. Assembly was also pretty easy. I'm expecting a backerkit Munchkin set this week and will be using the tower for some family game nights. Well done!
