First, arrange them the way it is shown in the images, and thread an elastic ribbon through the middle of all the pieces. Then, tie it on one side, but when you tie it on the second side, make sure the elastic is tight enough so that the stick is straight. Leave a small amount of ribbon without losing the tension, so you can tie the elastic to the last part afterward.
