Description

Helps with drilling holes into the Ikea Kallax shelves so that you can rearrange the cubes

Requires a 6mm drill bit

Models:

  • 4 Drill hole guides depending on which piece you're drilling into.
  • 2 long L brackets to help you center the hole guide.
  • Full length and shorter dowels (plugging holes, don't push all the way in).

Instructions:

  1. Figure out and label which drill hole guide you need for each piece (DOUBLE CHECK that you're using the correct one by overlapping it up with the original peg holes unless you want an extra hole in your Kallax).
  2. (optional, recommended) Fully assemble Kallax to help with lining everything up.
    1. Place Kallax in the orientation you want to use it in.
  3. Use the 2 L brackets to center the drill hole guide (might need to wiggle the Kallax to get it to fit).
  4. (optional) Clamp down drill hole guide.
  5. Use 6mm bit to drill out required holes.
  6. Partially dissemble Kallax.
  7. Place new shelves in using the shorter dowels (don't push all the way in, hole depth seems to vary alot (+-3mm).
  8. Reassemble Kallax

This is exactly what I needed! I was about to take out the calipers, measure, and design. Now I can go straight to print and drill. Thank you!
