Description

I made an effort to create a fan muffler for the P1s that would be simple to install using double-sided tape. Many internet profiles are designed to be attached with magnets. For P1S users, this is an issue. Additionally, it is somewhat larger than others since it isolates noise, disturbs sound waves more, and facilitates easy airflow.

In order to further reduce noise and filter out fumes that the carbon filter is unable to capture, I also suggest utilizing foam (10mm). Grease from moving parts and a lot of oils covering plastics will initially cause the printer to emit odors. I can tell by smell that a lot of this is absorbed by the foam.

With this muffler, I was able to reduce the fan noise from 72 to 62 dB.

Hope someone finds this helpful:))

Well printed. Reduce about 10db from my X1C. Modified the STL to attach 19pcs 8x1.5mm magnets.

I really like this model because it works. I had to destroy it inside to place into my existing HEPA filter and it works well. Still there is enough space to let the air flow. Thumbs up for the time invested into this meaningful solution. Boosted.

if you're only printing with petg pla or tpu you don't need to filter the exhaust air coming out of the machine. and if you are printing abs ass or anything higher temp needs venting outside not into that little exhaust silencer

Printed nicely in Bambu PLA basic. You need as many magents as possible to keep it secured to the back of your unit. I glued in as many as I could and doubled up where possible. I tried to use a small piece of foam on the sealing edge but even 2mm of foam was enough to degrade the magnetic force, so I removed the foam and its been holding on OK. If I ever want to reprint, I'd make even larger magnet pockets, and try to put some small channel for a sealing gasket.

One of the print profiles from the original author includes magnet holes. You can also add additionamagnet holes of any size in the Bambu Studio application.

The size is larger than I expected, but the fan noise has become significantly quieter

Just so you know, the P1S has a magnetic back, so models with magnets should not be problematic. Thanks for the concern anyway, though. I might make this.

tried a couple with magnets but all of the ones i tried falled off due to vibrations while printing. I will maybe make a second version for bigger and stronger magnets😊

do you think you can make a little part extrude on the left to use the screw (from your 5th picture) like how this design used magnets and the poop hole screw to secure the poop chute :https://makerworld.com/models/1121185 ill try to model it, but i need to print one to be able to know where the screw would go… maybe since you have it you could model it

Great model, added some 10x3 magnets and printed in 98a tpu no problems. Quiets fan noise a bunch, stepper motors stay roughly the same volume tho.

The effect is like night and day, simply brilliant. Unfortunately, due to my impatience, the print doesn't look very good from the outside (ludacris mode). But that's not a big deal since you can't see the silencer. Before printing, I treated the inside with a little fuzzy skin to further reduce the sound.
