Description

Like many I have hundreds of these useful but hard to store Hex bit. Most get rusty in the damp environment so I have put together a nice simple sump and capillary hex storage tray.

  • Depending on your material or bambu model use the calibration file to see whether your hex bits fit. It prints in a couple of mins and will give you a good indication whether you need to increase or decrease the scale. This saves wasted time and material.
  • Simply put some drops of paraffin or penetration oil into the sump and watch it spread all inside the design via little tubes.
  • Don't use support on your print and I used a 0.4 nozzle in PLA.
  • Don't use too much and keep it on a flat surface.
  • Using too much and at a wonky angle might cause spills when the entire thing is populated with hex bits.

Gradually the paraffin creeps round each bit and helps suppress rust. Help the thing out of the way from naked flames
