Description

I wanted some matching cards in order to help my students work through decimal and binary conversion. These little cards are a great, permanent resource for helping students learn.

I can see two games to play with these cards:

  • Matching - Flip them all over and scatter them, then flip them over to find matches two at a time.

  • Stack and smack - Stack all of the Decimal cards in the middle, and spread out the binary cards. When a new decimal card is flipped over, be the first one to smack the binary card.

There are probably more games and ways to use these, but I wanted to share them in case anyone else finds them helpful!

I printed mine in two colors, with a pause just before the lettering and boarder is added. This ended up giving them a little color and makes the text pop. Because the STL files are long (I used a for loop in OpenSCAD), when you want to import them to your slicer you should split them by object, and then reorganize them on the build plate.

I am working on more sets, including hexadecimal cards, and an organizer/box for them.

I hope you enjoy!
