Description
Big Red Smart Button
Ever wanted to slam your hand down on a big red button and have it trigger your smart home? Now you can!
This case houses a standard 22mm button (I recommend [this one from Amazon]) along with an Aqara smart button to trigger Home Assistant actions. Use the customizer to create a custom label ring for your button.
What You'll Need
- 22mm big button (this one from amazon)
- Aqara smart button
- Soldering equipment
- Spudger (for opening the Aqara button)
- Threaded inserts
- Bolts
Assembly
1. Prepare the Aqara Button
Open the Aqara button using a spudger, then solder leads to the existing switch (or remove the switch and solder directly to the pads).
2. Choose Your Case Variant
- SHORT variant: Use this if you leave the Aqara lid off (recommended—saves space since the original button won't be reused)
- LONG variant: Required only if you reattach the Aqara lid and factory button
3. Final Assembly
Wire the button, insert the threaded inserts, and bolt the case together.
