Description

A fun little fidget toy.

No extra parts required, just snapfit it together

The model is optimized for 0,2 mm layer height. Please print it with that layerheight.

Works best with normal PLA - i had higher friction with matt or pla-tough

  • Update 2025 July: I have uploaded 2 new profiles with slightly changed geometry and steeper overhangs in the snapfit. The parts should slide easier and take less force. Please use normal pla for lowest friction - (not matte pla)

  • Update 2024 December 09: I created some Handles for this Iris if you want to play with it like a scissor

Boost Me (for free)

If you had fun with this print, a boost is a great way to show that :)

Assembly - for video instructions scroll down -

  1. Break free the snap fit arms by pushing them in - This just makes it take less force later
  2. Remove the tabs from the triangular sliders
  3. clean up edges if necessary
  4. place sliders in the open position
  5. Align the Pin of the slider with the correct cutout and push together the housing parts

For the first few turns the iris might have a bit more friction. If that is the case just push the two halfs together with your palms and rotate it a few times. Generally, the more you use it the better it should turn.
