Seed Starter

A simple self-watering seed starter with adjustable distance for the light.

Since i am starting a small hydroponic system i wanted to be able to grow my own plants from the seed, hence i designed this small seed starter.

To grow my veggies i used some cheap growlight from amazon, that easily snap into the Lamp_clip i made below in order to fit the seed starter.

I desgined the pots for some coconut swelling tablets i also found on amazon but of course any other grow medium can alse be used with the pods.

Note:

Since the whole design is plug and play and the threads need some tolerance to function, the mounting part isn't the sturdiest one. It still supports the lamp easily and as long as you don't heavily tear on it it should be fine :) .

If you open the cover for the water inlet you will see two small water level indicators, showing where the bottom of the pods will begin.

Material list:

If you decide to print the Seed Starter with the mounting for the light you will need to print:

• 1x Basin_with_mount
• 1x Cover
• 2x Clip_lamp
• 2x Bottom_thread
• 2x Top_thread
• 2x Height_adjuster
• 13x Pot 
• 1x Cover_water_inlet

You will also need one of the lamps sold on amazon (sadly the lamps are sold in a bundle of 4) and your grow medium.

Print Settings:

For the Bottom_thread, Top_thread and Height_adjuster:

• Layer height: 0.16mm
• Infill: 15%
• Supports: No (except for the Bottom_thread)
• Brim: Optional

For the Clip_lamp:

• Layer height: 0.16mm
• Infill: 100%
• Supports: No
• Brim: No

For the Basins, Pots, Cover, Cover_water_inlet:

• Layer_height: 0.2mm
• Infill: 15%
• Supports: No
• Brim: No

I am still very new to the whole topic of cultivating my own plants, so any feedback or advice if you decide to try my design would be highly appreciated! :)
