Description
Jaguar E-Type Model - Monolithic "Design Mockup" Style
Bring the timeless charm of one of automotive history's most beautiful classic cars to your desk. This model of the classic Jaguar E-Type has been designed with a clean and sculptural aesthetic, perfect for lovers of retro design and elegant model making.
As with the other models in the series, this version is conceived as a "Solid Mockup": no interiors to print, closed windows, and wheels integrated into the car body. The result is a continuous and monolithic sculpture, ideal for printing in a single color (such as matte white or primer gray) to simulate the clay or plaster studio models used by car designers.
✨ Key Features
- Monolithic Design: Body, windows, and wheels fused into a single form. Easy to print and without fragile parts.
- Classic Lines: Perfectly captures the soft and iconic curves of the E-Type's elongated hood and tail.
- Minimalist Aesthetic: Ideal for display on a wooden desk, bookshelf, or in a modern office.
- Ready for Painting: The continuous surfaces make it perfect for those who wish to sand and apply custom paints.
🖨️ Printing Tips (Slicer Settings)
As a model rich in soft and aerodynamic curves, I recommend focusing on layer resolution to minimize the "stair-stepping" effect:
- Layer Height: 0.08 mm - 0.12 mm (recommended for FDM to preserve the fluidity of the hood's curves).
- Infill: 10% - 15% (Lines, Gyroid, or Cubic).
- Walls (Wall Loops): 3 or 4 (to have enough thickness in case you want to sand the model).
- Supports: Yes. Tree Supports are recommended. They will be essential for supporting the undercarriage and bumpers without affecting visible surfaces.
- Orientation: Print horizontally on the wheels for the best overall visual result.
🎨 Recommended Materials
- PLA Matte / PLA Silk: A matte white or ivory PLA will provide a perfect "sculpture effect". Alternatively, a silver PLA Silk can emphasize the classic curves.
- Resin: For those with an SLA printer, this model will perform at its full potential, resulting in a smooth and perfect display piece.
If you decide to print this model, please share photos in the comments! I am very curious to see what finish and color you will choose for this great classic.
