Pool Noodle Shield

If you have a noodle sword, you need a noodle shield! Fun for play / pretend combat. Easy to print models, work fine in PLA. Minimal supports and the only materials needed are 3 or 4 pool noodles (depending on color scheme).

Material Considerations:

Typical pool noodles are 48,” with some variation. You want to get the cheapest thinnest ones, nothing premium or jumbo. You will need at least 3 pool noodles per shield, for example 2 black and 1 white for the wolf shield. For the color scheme of the hawk shield you will need 4 noodles, 2 blue and 2 white. In either case you should have least one sword length of noodle left over, and some scraps. No sword handle is included in this model but there are several available. 

Assembly Instructions:

1. Cut noodles as follows:

8 x 8 inches (203 mm)

4 x 17.4 inches (442 mm) 

Note any change to the length of the center spokes will impact the length of the outside pieces. You may want to check what length you need for the outsides after assembling the center core. 

2. Screw the 8 short noodles into the center shield piece

3. Screw the 4x T shaped connectors in, 1 for every other short noodle

4. Wiggle / push the 4 long noodle pieces in between the T shaped connectors. The first connection to each T can be screwed in, but the second will just need to be wiggled / pushed.
