Description

This simple sharpening jig is designed to help you achieve precise and consistent edges on your chisels and hand plane blades. It’s simple to assemble, highly functional, and customizable to suit your needs. I hope you find it helpful!

Materials Needed:

  • 2x 6201zz Bearings
  • 100mm M12 Threaded Rod (minimum 100mm, but longer is recommended for wider tools)
  • 2x M12 Nuts
  • 2x 12mm Washers
  • 2x 3D-Printed Parts
  • (optional) 40mm of 3mm Steel Rod (minimum length, but longer is better for wider tools)

Assembly Instructions:

  • Assemble the components as shown in the accompanying pictures.
    • Nut - Washer - Part - Part - Washer - Nut
  • Optionally insert the 3mm Steel rod for better alignment.
  • The tolerances of the printed parts are intentionally tight to minimize any wobble during use. If needed, you can adjust the fit by filing or drilling the holes to their final dimensions. Alternatively, you can modify the included .step file to customize the design further.

Usage:
Just mount your blade in between the 3D printed parts and tighten the nuts. The farther the blade sticks out the shallower will be the angle of your blade.
