I decided to create this axe sheath so I could protect all my axes in a nearly similar and uniform way

This project is a generic and customizable sheath, designed to fit many different axes and hatchets.
The project includes 3 different sizes:

  • 120 mm
  • 140 mm
  • 160 mm

The models are intentionally provided without the blade profile extrusion, as each axe has a different blade geometry and shape

To customize the sheath for your axe, simply:

  1. Import the outline of your blade traced on a sheet of paper and then photographed.
  2. Create a sketch with the blade outline, scaling it correctly
  3. Perform an extrusion/cut of the profile into the model.

I have verified that a thickness/clearance of approximately 5 mm allows for proper coverage of most common blades

This approach allows you to quickly create a customized sheath while maintaining the same aesthetic style for all your axes

For assembly, I used:

Ideal for:

  • Wood axes
  • Camping hatchets
  • Workshop axes
  • Bushcraft tools
