The parts are press fitted together after printing. If the tolerances are too tight, adjusting the scale slightly should work for most. I prefer the tight fit to keep everything stable when in use.
This design is often found as a mold for resin crafts, three parts and assembled after curing. I created a model that is 3d printable and avoids messing with toxic resin.
