One More Try Kaladin - Light Up Version!
✨Inspiration: The vast majority of my models are book-related. I use 3d modeling as a way to keep interacting with a story/series long after I finish them. This year has seen a lot of fun and original (I think) models designed to accompany your desktop or bookcases. This model, however, I am most proud of. The concept was taken from a pivotal scene from Brandon Sanderson's The Way of Kings that sets one of the main characters on his path out of the darkness. It was one of the early scenes that helped cement this series as my fav! ✏️Design Process I initially designed Kaladin as one of my Bookshelf Buddies to go along with Syl, his spren. It was a good model and hit all the right feels, but it needed something extra to make it special. I toyed around with nano LEDs and began modeling a channel down his arm to house the wires. Luckily, I didn't put too much effort into this as Bambu Lab came out with their Wireless Inductive Coil Kit. Housing the kit components inside of the Honor Chasm and incorporating some of the Rosharan flora was a no-brainer. The last cherry on top was using Makerlab's Chroma Canvas to make a backdrop adapted from Jessi Ochse's great artwork Kaladin and Syl before the Honor Chasm, which really sets the mood. It fits nicely between the Dragonsteel Books' Leather Bound Editions if you are lucky enough to own a set! The new Wireless Inductive Coil Kit has so much potential to help me up my model game! Thanks Everyone!! 🔨Assembly Assembly is simple! Connect the coil to the board with the supplied wire. Slide in the coil upside down into the slot inside the chasm. Slide in the board into the slot inside the chasm. Secure the front of the board with two m2 by >6 mm screws. Slide in the back plate or optional backdrop plate. Glue and paint Kaladin (depending on which version you print). Paint the rockbuds. Glue in your choice of LEDs into the bottom of Syl and the rockbuds (I used cool white for Syl and warm white for the rock buds). Glue Syl into Kaladin's hands. Then setup and enjoy!

Finally Finished my model for the wireless coil kit challenge! It came around just in time as I about a third of the way through with a wired led version. This saved soo much time and expanded what I could do. Huge Thanks! to bambu for the support.
This one is a shout out to the moment that cemented the Stormlight Archive as my favorite series. Adding these led effects really brought the model to life. The last minute addition of the Chroma Canvas backdrop really sets the atmosphere. The wireless lighting method really kept the interactiveness of my original model so you can pick it up and examine it without worrying about wires.

Holy crap! Just hit 1,000 followers on here.
That’s a huge milestone for me. Thanks to everyone who followed, downloaded, printed, broke, reprinted, and somehow still came back for more. Your comments, makes, and feedback keep the gears turning and motivation flowing.
I genuinely appreciate the support and the chaos. More designs are coming, probably weirder, hopefully better, and almost certainly tested by bed adhesion.
Happy Printing!
