This piece started and finished as a statement. When the concept of the proposed monument for the National Mall began circulating, I was struct, as were many, with the history context and symbolism of this latest project. Arches are never neutral. They commemorate, declare, and frame power. So, I reduced all that to 2.5". Not specific reason, just a small size that can fit in your hand...
