My academic work focus on decolonial studies and I like to think that comes through in my art as well.

After finding no 3D models of the Lady Liberty of Saint Martin, I decided to create her myself. She's about 6" tall, celebrating the Caribbean emancipation and embodies freedom, liberty, resilience, and enduring symbolism. I included both the original and simplified versions. The lantern is DELICATE, and can be reattached with a paperclip! I used Bambu Green PLA so the hues of the green would give the statue a more authentic look.

This piece started and finished as a statement. When the concept of the proposed monument for the National Mall began circulating, I was struct, as were many, with the history context and symbolism of this latest project. Arches are never neutral. They commemorate, declare, and frame power. So, I reduced all that to 2.5". Not specific reason, just a small size that can fit in your hand...
