Hook Protector

This object is a jig head crown protector designed specifically to ensure angler safety, prevent damage to the hook crown, and facilitate the storage and transport of jigs. This piece has been optimized for 3D printing using PETG filament, thanks to its ideal combination of flexibility, mechanical strength, and tolerance to humid or saline environments.

Design and features

The protector has a tubular and conical shape, adapted to the profile of the jig head crown. At its widest end, it has a circular opening that allows easy insertion of the lure's hook crown. The conical shape ensures that the protector fits snugly around the hooks, preventing them from being exposed.

At the closed end, the design incorporates small perforations or grilles that allow ventilation and drainage of saltwater, preventing the accumulation of moisture that could generate corrosion on the hooks. In addition, these openings ensure that the piece is lightweight and easy to clean after each use.

The inside of the protector has a series of small flexible tabs or "teeth" designed to adapt to different sized crowns and keep the hooks firmly in place. These tabs allow the protector to remain snug without damaging the sharp points of the hooks.
