Description

This tool serves as a compact assistant for consistently trimming the PTFE tube to 60mm for the AMS Smooth PTFE mod. To prevent the tube from getting stuck, straighten it thoroughly before inserting it. If the tube becomes lodged inside, assist by gently pushing it with a small object, such as a piece of filament or a paperclip, from the far end toward the opening.

Update

25.12.2023: The pushback mechanism has been relocated to the top, eliminating the need to probe into the PTFE tube. This modification makes the new pushback slot more user-friendly and accessible. Please note that third-party print profiles may not always be current or updated.

I can't give 4*... It's nice and simple. If I were doing it, I would add an opening to push back out the tube after the cut and add a chamfer for the pushback. The PTFE tubes are curved, and after the cut, they stay trapped. If you want to +1 your model, please get in touch with me. I will be glad to assist you. Thanks for making one for my Smooth AMS ;-)

Thank you for your valuable feedback and rating. Recently, I've made updates to all models, adding a small opening at the back specifically to address this issue. I just checked the 3mf and stl files and the opening is there. Maybe you printed it before the update which was about 4-5 days ago.

Just pushing back the curved section of the "D," like 10 to 20mm, would make it easier to push back the PTFE. It certainly work as is ;-)

I've just uploaded an updated version of my model. In this revision, I've incorporated a pushback slot at the top, which I believe is a more effective design compared to my earlier approach. This ensures that the filament or paperclip is easily inserted without accidentally poking into the tube. It also provides a more user-friendly and fail-safe mechanism. I'm keen to hear your thoughts and feedback on this improvement.
