Description

This adorable mini lantern features a classic design with mesh elements, perfect for your electric tea lights. It creates beautiful shadow patterns, adding a cozy and decorative ambiance to any space.

There are two lid options: One without, and one with a ring for the different stand options. The lid is printed with a small manual support, all other parts are designed to print without support.

You can use it alone or with the optional stand. I also added different wall mount options:

  • Magnetic (For D4x2 and D6x3 Magnets). You can add up to 10 magnets to the plate, please be aware you need a strong magnetic surface for the D4x2 magnets as found in the Maker's Beginner Kit. Test it before using. The D6x3 option is a lot stronger, even with only 6 magnets.
  • Flat. This is the most convenient option as you can simply mount it using glue or double sided tape.
  • With holes for screws. Designed for Screws with a diameter of 3-4mm. There are caps to hide the screws, but they might not fit all screw heads.

Disclaimer: Use only electric tea lights with this design!

Turned out great. Used Bambu Lab PLA basic bronze for the lantern and Bambu Lab PLA matte charcoal for the stand.

I did use variable layer heights to get a smoother finish.

Thank you for the suggestion, that was a great idea! I did some test prints and added adaptive layer height as well as concentric top layers to the lid, which should give an even cleaner look.

I've tried printing the base's stick and it always fails, it detaches, how can I make it work? Everything else printed perfectly but I don't know why this one fails and detaches

Try cleaning your build plate first https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/filament-acc/acc/pei-plate-clean-guide Also, if you are printing on a P1/X1, incresse bed temperature to 65 C, some PLAs dont stick well at the default 55 C. Leave the door open, 65 C can cause heat issues when printed with closed doors. if nothing helps, add a brim.

I think thats just the travel moves. Are you printing with time lapse or on an A1 / A1 Mini? the brim and model looks right to me.

The lantern print is lovely. I had trouble printing the hook part. It just kept lifting. I think a small brim would be beneficial.

Thank you for your review, and sorry you had some trouble with that part. I printed many of them and it never came off. Did you try cleaning your build plate (Best with water and dish soap).

I sure did. That's the first thing I did. I'll try them again on my other printer.

Artist profile is excellent straight to print from app. no issues and excellent quality. We went with the screw in wall bracket from other profile to hang. no issues with that either. Gives room an older style lighting. Tea light from hobby lobby. Thank you for making this available!

Just an awesome little lantern can't wait to do some of your other projects. Printed the lantern with a dual color yellow and black PLA. Hook and base used black PLA. While the lantern plate printed fine I did have multiple failures trying to print the second plate with the hook and base. I was finally able to see why it kept failing and it was the hook portion of the hook stand that lifted from the bed. As someone stated before they were having the same issue so I turned down the speed on the first layer AND ADDED BRIMS which the brims seemed to be the only thing that kept that end of the hook down. I tried raising the bed temp first and slowing down the first 3 layers but that did not do it. The brims did work. I also was using a textured plate (which I should not have used anyway for the hook so not sure if that had anything to do with it.) But it is a great lantern THANK YOU!!

I'm really glad you enjoyed it, thank you for sharing your experience! About the hook: I know a few people had this problem - I personally printed many of these and similar parts myself on textured PEI and the new SuperTack (Life Pro Tip btw), and never had this problem myself. I can only assume not all PLAs stick well enough for this design, but it's impossible to "debug" for me as I can't replicate the problem... :/

Of course you cant debug everything!! Its totally fine! I have only had my printer for 3 weeks and I am learning new things everyday so I need to know these things like turning brims on or not etc etc slower printing higher temps etc etc.. And I am my bambu new cool supertack plate will be here tomorrow so I will be able to see what is so cool with that one shortly! Thank you again!
