Description

Hi,

As promissed, sharing the newest version which allows you to place 3 even 4 AMS on top of each other.

  • Compatible with all AMS versions now. Including kickstarter AMS version.
  • Only 6 pieces. Literally less than a minute to assemble.
  • 3 times more stable compare to previous version.
  • This design successfully uses AMS itself for stability. No additional piece behind the AMS needed.
  • Still duplo brick compatible in case you would like to reprint a piece. Your children would be happy to use old pieces, my kids really enjoy having pieces which I didnt eventually use as I had to print several different versions during prototyping.
  • Customizable on Bambu Studio. Used bambu studio negative part function for the holes in the tall pieces, you can change shape of those negative parts, add text etc. to personalise your stand. Sharing a photo of a version where I added text “Bambu Lab”.Please share photos of your customisations.
  • Printing
    • For 2XAMS
      • Print “plate 1” and “plate 2”.
    • For 3XAMS
      • Print “plate 1” twice and “plate 2” only once.
    • For 4XAMS
      • Print “plate 1” three times and “plate 2” only once.
      • Use print profile “Wall Braket” to fix AMS tower to the wall when you have 4 of them on top of each other.
    • Print profile “lite version” is for those who would like to use their existing duplo brick pieces for the walls. Only 12 hours of print.
    • Use only "Outer Brim", no inner brim.
    • *IMPORTANT*
      • To avoid heat creep, keep door and the glass lid open while printing tall pieces if you are using P1S, X1C or X1E. I lost one print due to this. I normally print everything with door and lid closed but these are tall pieces and requires good cooling.
      • I had difficulty fitting two pieces together with one filament as the filament didn't have good dimentional accuracy or 225 degree was too high. In this case you can train holes by attaching them to real duplo pieces for a night and they will fit with a little force next morning.

Can you please help me here? I can't find a riser that fits my AMS. Here is the pictures of the print. I only printed the side that was on the left in the project. But in the pictures I tried attaching it to both sides. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi, can you please share a photo of your AMS with a meter like the attached photo? I will add a print profile for your AMS version this weekend. Also please share the version number other information that you have about your AMS if you have such information. I can add your AMS version information to the print profile description so others can also benefit.

Here is the measurement. I put a light on top to make it easier to see I hope. According to Bambu Studio the version is 00.00.06.40. But that has to be a firmware version or something. The sticker only seems to be a model number? But I'm happy to investigate further if you have info about how or maybe a link to how I can find what you need. And did I mention that you're awesome? Because you're awesome! Really. Thank you for doing this. edit: oh and the ruler measures almost exactly 3mm from the edge of the ruler to the zero point marking. So +3mm to all of the readings. And I tried my best to square it to the back of the unit.

This is great 👍 I will create the print profile and let you know. Regarding AMS version, what you shared should be enough, thank you!

Printed nicely, but doesn't fit my AMS, neither the one that came with the printer, or the extra one that I have. Will have to remove the two small pegs closest to the center

Hi, thank you for the photo with the measurements. Can you try print profile “Trial for an AMS version (don't use)” for the top piece and I will update all pieces shortly. With the update, there shouldn’t be any version without compatibility.

I will later tonight, when another print has finished, but I'll cut it down, so I only print the teeth, so it doesn't take too long, have 2 more AMS's arriving tomorrow from BambuLab, so they may have updated the design.

Nice design, thanks for sharing, would it be possible to have the f3d files or similar? It doesn't fit the first AMS (sent in the first batch of kickstarter).

Hi, thank you for the feedback. Can you send me the picture of the AMS from profile ? How many holes does it have? I can make necessary updates this weekend and share. Current design is compatible with AMS 3 holes and 5 holes on the side.

My 2 AMS has 5 holes, but it only fits the newer one. The older one came from the first kickstarter batch and the hole size is not the same. The middle three holes are fine, but if I line it up with the first hole, the last hole doesn't fit.

My color choice wasn't that great, but this will definitely work. My new AMS is not compatible with the 5-tooth stand, but luckily, I had an older AMS model. I didn't glue the pieces together and they are starting to separate a little. I did have to use a mallet to put the pieces together, but only needed to tap gently.

Hi, thank you for printing and the feedback on the different AMS version. Looks like my first 3-tooth design had a better compatibility with both AMS version I am making necessary changes right now. As I also mentioned in my post, I was working on a new design with possibility to have 4 AMS units on top of each other. Design work is finished and I am in the process of printing it. It won't require connection behind the AMS and stability is increased at least 3 times to be able to accommodate 3-4 AMS units. I will share all files very soon.

Thank you for an Amazing design. Everything snapped into place perfectly. I used up a bunch of smaller rolls I had, and love how it turned out. In the process of print another one.

This is awesome. I printed the top attachments that got to the ams. Since my kids outgrew their Duplo blocks, I'll be using their blocks for the rest of the stand! save on filament for the stand and reusing the Duplo blocks! Thanks. The fit is perfect.

Thank you Tdub55! Giving second life to unused duple pieces is a great idea. I have completed printing second version today. I will be uploading files and photos within two days :) New version is more stable and doesn't require connection behind the AMS. I will add special pieces for you so you can also benefit design improvements while using your existing lego duplo pieces. Stay tuned!

Hi, thank you for the comment and rating. I got a feedback that current design is missing compatibility with one rare AMS version. There is a print profile called “Trial for an AMS version” . Let me know if that one would fit to your AMS version. Otherwise send me the measurements of your AMS side channels and I will create a new print profile for you to test.

Just printed this as it allows me to open the lids nice and easily to swap filaments and was simple to print (although 49 hours was a little nerve racking). It came out perfect, all sloted together nice and simply, the AMS's both fitted perfectly and it all feels really sturdy. Many Thanks for a great design 👍
