Description

Transform your favorite photos and artwork into buildable brick mosaics with Brick Your Pic! This innovative tool allows you to create custom brand-compatible baseplates featuring your own designs, perfect for wall art, photo displays, gaming terrain, or creative brick building projects. Whether you're uploading a photo or creating pixel art from scratch, Brick Your Pic gives you the power to turn digital images into physical brick creations.

📢 Part of our expanding collection of brick design tools, joining the popular Brick Your Name customizer! If you create a fun design from this tool, upload it as a print profile and we'll give you a shout out in the model description.
⚠️ There appears to be a new limitation with the MakerLab Customizer that is only allowing the creation up to 22x22 blocks at the moment. I'll ask them what limitations we are running into and provide another update to the community.

Start by opening the new brick pixel art maker web app here: https://ozarkexpeditions.vercel.app/games/brick-your-pic

It's easy to generate your own!

Two Creative Paths!

Photo Transform

  • Upload your image (JPEG, PNG, or WebP formats) - Select images with high contrast and low detail for best results
    • *Images are processed are never stored
  • Choose baseplate size (up to 22x22 for all build plates)
  • Customize your design so that it looks perfect
    • Adjust colors, image saturation, change it to black and white and more
  • Excellent for logos, portraits, and custom artwork

Pixel Art Creator

  • Start from scratch with our digital canvas
  • Select colors and paint cell-by-cell
  • Create custom designs, game sprites, or abstract art
  • Full creative control over every brick placement

Build Process Guide

Design Phase

  • Upload photo or create pixel art
  • Select baseplate size and grid options that meet your project needs
  • Customize colors and adjust design - easily change the colors, add colors, or change the colors of pixels

Export Process

  • Copy generated OpenSCAD code
  • Paste into MakerWorld OpenSCAD model maker
  • Generate and download as 3MF file (important for color preservation)
  • Open in Bambu Studio for final checks and press Print!

Display Options

  • We recommend using command strips to hang the pixel art on the wall
  • You can get creative and add this art to a frame
  • Create larger designs using 2x2 or 4x4 grid options and use our brick generator to make custom connections

Important Notes ⚠️ Initial Release Features

  • This is an early version - we encourage your feedback - post photos of your builds in the comments
  • No progress saving yet (feature may be added based on community interest)
  • We recognize that the number of color changes can be significant, so we have optimization the color height to reduce filament waste

Size Guidelines

  • Standard build plates: Up to 22x22 baseplate size, you can actually print 28x28 size, however, we've noticed that the 3MF file can periodically fail to save.
  • A1 Mini: Up to 22x22 baseplate size
  • Larger designs possible using grid options

The lego advent calandar has a display board attached to the boxes. I dont think anyone keeps the cardboard boxes, so I made base plates to mimic the board so I could display the advent openings on something more permanent. Is it exactly the same, no. But it works and you can still play the little game with it. Going to print some compatible trees to give it some depth. Love this creator. Thank you!

Trying to save a 24x24 as a 3MF and it keeps failing. Not sure if I am doing something wrong, or if theres another issue.

Looks like it tried to save something. When I try to open the file in Bambu Studios it says theres no geometry.

oh sorry to hear and thanks for giving it a try! I had that issue with 28x28, but not with 24x24. If it’s something you can share, can you send the OpenSCAD code in a private message and I’ll look soon.

We've updated the app so that the default size is a 22x22 grid size, while we try to see if there are any other work arounds for larger sizes. You can also use the 2x2 tile option if you want to make larger grids. Thanks again for your feedback to make this tool better!

Remarkable work! I’m excited to make some of these as Christmas gifts. This makes me want to learn something about OpenSCAD because I have no clue how you did this but it’s really cool
