📢 Update V1-1 Now in Thicker Sizes! First off, we are incredibly grateful to the community for supporting this model and allowing us to get 2nd place in the OpenSCAD contest. Based on community feedback, we've added a new OpenSCAD file that supports thicker sizes called “Thicker - Custom Name Bricks”. Simply change the thickness through the “block height ratio” option. This model defaults to 1 standard brick size. We've also updated this one to allow for longer names extending past typical Bambu plates by allowing power users to adjust the curve smoothness from 100 down to 60, which increases performance with minimal changes to print quality.

Create them for your family, friends, businesses, workshops, and more!

📢 Custom stands coming soon - we will have various options to display your themed name plates in style.

📝 Long loading times - High-resolution cylinder generation may cause brief delays in nameplate rendering.

Steps to Create Your Custom Brick Baseplate

1 - Enter Your Name - In the "name" field, type in the text you want to appear on your baseplate. Capital letters work best for a clear and bold design. For example, type "MAKER".

2 - Choose Your Font
Select a font from the dropdown menu that suits your style. There are several to choose from and try out.

3 - Adjust Settings
Use the sliders to set the height, weight, spacing, and alignment of your text. Adjust "textHeight," "textWeight," "letterSpacing," "xAdjust," and "yAdjust" to fine-tune your model. Adjusting these values can make the baseplate look amazing. You want to try to avoid making little slices of studs, if possible, especially around the outside edges.

📢 The advance settings allow you to make printer specific adjustments. For example, If you've printing bricks from the Ultimate Brick Customizer, then I would recommend leaving the stud rescale to 1.0 or with name brand bricks, adjust the stud rescale to 1.05 for a snug fit. Consider printing a small example to ensure you have the correct scale that matched your printers' tolerances for name-brand bricks.

4 - Generate Your Model
Once all adjustments are made, click the "Generate" button to create your custom baseplate model. This will render a preview of your design.

5 - Download Your Model
After generating the model, click the "Download" button to save your design. You can now print or share your custom brick baseplate. Please consider printing from the 3MF file for the best results!

Enjoy customizing and building!

The generated text is amazing, although in my case I had to set the X - Y compensation values to 0.1 to make the original Lego blocks fit perfectly.

Awesome project, Thanks! Is there a way to increase the thickness of the just the base? My base on a large print came out only 1.5mm thick.

Hello, thanks for the kind words. Name brand baseplates are at 1.6mm not including the studs. Were you thinking about name plates with the full block size?

I'd also like to know how to increase the base thickness of the names as they are flimsy.

Thanks for the response. I just replaced "MAKER" with the name I wanted and got the 1.5mm base. What do I need to do to get a thicker plate? Thanks.
