This design is evolved from my Rough Oval Hoop Earrings and also an idea I had after printing these Faceted Hoop Earings. When I printed their design, I elongated it and wrapped it with wire instead of putting a pin through it. I decided to see how it would look if I messed around with my oval hoop earrings and designed them specifically to be wrapped with wire.
I also tried to make it so they would work well with multi-colored filament. I gave them a try with my Blue/Black filament and I think they turned out alright. The main pair is printed in Rose Quartz.
I wrapped it with 22 gauge stainless steel wire, but I've also used aluminum wire too and I think that can look nice if you have a fun colored one!
I really like how with 3D printing you can make bold jewelry without having a lot of weight to them. So while these are big, they are not heavy. You can also try scaling them down if you want something a bit more subtle.
