Description

Project: Minimalist Egg Holder
This project involves designing a modern and functional egg holder using Rhinoceros 3D.

Design Description:

The egg holder features a curved, ergonomic shape with clean, minimalist lines. It is designed to securely hold an egg in a vertical position and can be used for both boiled eggs and decorative purposes.

  • Proposed Material: Durable plastic (PLA, PETG) or 3D-printed ceramic.
  • Dimensions: Inner diameter of 45 mm, suitable for standard eggs, with a height of 25 mm.
  • Style: Modern, with a slightly extended circular base for stability.

Development Process:

  1. Modeling in Rhino 3D:
    • A combination of commands such as Revolve, Sweep2, and BooleanDifference was used to create the holder's smooth curves and detailed features.
    • The design was optimized to minimize material usage without compromising structural integrity.
  2. Optimization for 3D Printing:
    • The model was checked for errors using the CheckMesh function in Rhino.
    • It was exported in STL format for compatibility with slicing software.
  3. Testing and Iteration:
    • After prototyping, dimensions and angles were refined to ensure optimal stability.

Use Case:

The egg holder can be customized with various colors or textured patterns and serves as a functional kitchen accessory or a decorative piece for festive tables.
