Description

How many desk phone stands have you owned? If you're like me and have bought many stands designed for just one type of device, you'll love this versatile stand.

This stand is portable, foldable, lightweight, and has multiple tilt angles. It can hold cell phones, tablets, and even laptops (at certain angles) securely on your desk. The platform offers 18 tilt angles from 10° to 74°, giving you the best viewing angle for your devices.

Made up of 3 easy-to-assemble components that can be printed on a single print plate, the stand is a breeze to put together thanks to its spring pin design. You can print each components at different colors to suit your styles.

Updates:

2024-11-15 V2 Stands is launched. Base plate hinges are beefed up. Aux Stop Plate is added to accommodate devices with very thick cases. i.e. Kids Tablets

2024-11-17 V3 Stands is launched. Raised Plate is added to make room for phone charging cable. Now you can use the stand while the phone is charging.

2025-01-06 Added print profile for PEO, PEY, PET, H1H patten print plates.  It's extremely tricky to get good adhesion on these build plates. This print profile has been fine-tuned and tested to ensure good prints every time. Please well clean and wipe the print plate with diluted isopropyl alcohol (IPA) before printing to ensure good adhesion.

Upgrade you printed stands:

Both V2 and V3 print profiles are posted. This Stand is designed with modules in mind. You only need to replace the components as needed for upgrades. Please select the correct print profile for the Stands or the upgrade components you need.

Here is a photo to show upgrade from V2 (red) to V3 (white) components changed.  Just repalce the components as needed.

Material:

I've printed the stands in the photo in PLA, PLA+, PLA Matte, PLA Silk, PETG-HF.  All were printed, assembled, and work well using the uploaded print profiles. I suggest to print this in PETG for better feel and better flexibility of the spring pins.

Install Kick Stand to Platform: see the orientation of the taper edge on Kick Stand for correct orientation. Don't worry if installed wrong, the components can be removed and reinstall again. Just don't compress the “spring” too much to damage it.

Installed Platform Plate to Base: See the snap-lock to ensure Platform and Base are installed in the correct orientation.

Install Aux Stop Plate to Base: Use the side wall to slide the pin into the hole. Pay attention to the orientation of the components.

Installed the Raised Plate to Platform: Use the side wall to slide the pin into the hole. Pay attention to the orientation of the components.

After installation the components, exercise them a few times so that the pins and holes of the hinges are wear-in and become smooth.

Operation:

When not in use, it flattens to just 8mm thick, making it super portable. You can carry it in a briefcase, purse, school bag, or even your jeans pocket. The platform is kept in place by two snap-locks. To disengage the snap-locks, use the slots on both sides.

Adjust the tilt by lifting the platform and lowering the ‘kickstand’ to one of the 18 slots. The strips on the each side are the reinforced beams and tilt angle reminders.

In working mode:

  • Cell Phones: Can use any of the 18 slots (10° - 74° tilt).
  • Tablets: Can use slots 1 to 16 (74° - 17°). The last two slots don't provide good support.
  • Laptops: Use slots 6 to 12 for viewing or light typing. I use one stand in the office to raise my laptop monitor to the same height as my other desktop monitors. If you need more stability, especially for heavier use, I recommend using two stands side-by-side. If the spring pins pop out, just reassemble them. They’re designed to pop out rather than break.

Two Stands Mode:

I really love this stand, and so do my friends and colleagues who’ve tried it. I hope you like it too. Feel free to share any improvement ideas!

Improvements detail:

V2 Stands

  1. Hinges on the base plate are beefed up.

  2. Aux Stop Plate is added for extra thick devices which slide off from the original design of stop edge. For example, kids tablet with extra thick cartoon case.  Aux Stop Plate folds flat and locks onto the Base. It can be tilted up to lean against the original stop to give extra height of the stop for thicker devices. Installation of this Aux Stop Plate is as easy as the other plates.

V3 Stands

  1. Add Raised Plate to allow charging cable to plug into the port located at the bottom of a phone in portrait mode. This is designed for cell phone only. Although I've tested ok with my tablet, I'm not recommend using the tiny Raised Plate to hold your tablet which may be larger and heavier than the one I tested.

Nice (and useful) model! One of my daughters asked for a cell phone stand on their Christmas wish list, and my wife thought these would make nice stocking stuffers. I initially had a challenge getting them to print correctly in PETG using Bambu's new Supertack build plate. I was successful when I boosted the temperature of the bed to 70C. After that, I was able to print four in a row without a hitch. Speaking of boosting, here are two Boosts for your model. Thanks for a great model!

Fantastic design! I successfully printing all three version using PLA. The joints are a bit sticky and tight, but I expect that will loosen after a bit of use.

Wow! All 3 versions. 😊 I’m glad that you like them. Thanks for sharing the photos. Yes, the hinge pins and the holes will wear-in after using a while.

Nice functional print for a phone holder. I really like the numerous angle settings. Only down side is no ability to plug in charging cable in bottom of phone. With more and more mag safe charges there, this is an easy obstacle to overcome.

Thanks for your positive comment. I’ve a concept to add feature to this stand so that charging cable can be plugged in. Need to model it and test out. By the meantime, if I need to charge my phone, I put it sideways on the stand.

I'm looking for foldable stand like this, but, I wish I could tape it on the back of my laptop, so I don't to worry about to carry. You think it's work?

Unfortunately, this design is not for fastening on laptop or you will limited the tilting angle. When it is flattened, it's only 8mm thick. You can keep one in your laptop or tablet bag. That's what I do 😉
