Description

Hello all! Thanks to all of you that are fans of my mecha designs, I really appreciate it!

A lot of you have many wonderful suggestions on new mech/tank designs and have also expressed interest in mixing and matching to create your own design and so I've created this model page to upload parts so that you can create your own mecha.

Currently, I have 4 profiles: Series 1 Parts, Series 2 Parts, Series 3 Parts, and Assorted Parts

Each set has a set with:

  • arms/legs/extensions
  • weaponry
  • bases
  • tops

How to BYO Mecha

To build your own mecha, start by selecting a base and a compatible top to 3D print. From there you can add on the legs/arms that you like as well as the weaponry. Try printing out different parts to mix and match until you've created a design you like!

It's best to open the profiles up on a PC/Mac in Bambu Studio so you can pick and choose the parts you want to print.

Nice to have all the parts in a variety pack like this. Here's my custom mecha I call Mammoth Tank. I made my own body for it and enlarged the treads.

Print profiles work well and provide a nice smooth end product. The pieces can be put together in multiple ways, although you need to duplicate and mirror some objects to have sufficent to make the sample mechs. Still a lot of fun!!!

Great little set of parts. I duplicated objects to fill two and a half P1S build plates in 3 colours. This gave me plenty of parts to build the existing models and add a few custom creations. It would be great to see a future set that fills in some gaps in link combinations and angles, however there is plenty to inspire the imagination in this set.

@Firelight6, this was not a single file, I just printed out all the parts in the three packs. Because I have a P1S I was able to quadruple the leg and feet parts (I did a few twice to give me 8 of each) and they easily fit on the plate. I duplicated the weapons and mirrored them where necessary. I also added some to the other two plates to add variety to the colors. The bodies, heads and bases were duplicated on their respective plates.

You have to print out the parts you want from the Part Packs and assemble your own

Uhmm, I would "guess" that you download the 3MF profiles and or the STL/CAD package just like you would for any other design. Then as was mentioned, you just pick/clone/print the parts you want to use to create the mech of your imagination. It's not rocket science. You just download each profile, drag them into your slicer. Then you either pick and clone your favorite parts, or you just print each profile a few times to have a pile of parts and just go wild putting parts together. Just like a kid with a bucket of Legos. Just saying. :-P

"start by selecting a base and a compatible top to 3D print"... proceeds to print several of each plate across each profile to fill a bin so... kids... yeah, my kids can go through them and build, thank you! Edit: I wasn't joking, still printing more, see pic :)
