Description

This is the swing lid kit to suit my recently released American-style trash can. See my profile page for that model.

Printing the kit is simple and assembly is as follows:

Align the holes in the upper, outer part with the collar
Use the connecting pins and push them FROM THE TOP through the collar. Ensure that they are fully seated and that there is no remaining gap between the parts. This will be a tight fit, and you may find that using the end of a flat screwdriver will make this easier.
Add the swinging part of the lid over the posts and press together until they fit together.

It shouldn't be required, but if you find that you need more weight at the bottom of the lid to aid closing, add something heavy to the underside of the lid in the channels provided. A small amount of hot glue will keep it there.

I like the design, but I needed it bigger :D I've scaled up the Trash Can to 122.73% (to make use of the full print plate and also tried scaling the Swing Lid (all parts) on it's x and y axes. Not the best idea unfortunately :( While the lid fits nicely on top of the can, the "push part" can't get past the frame of the lid. :( Not sure if this would have worked if I'd have scaled the z axes as well, but I doubt it.
