Description

Description

This is an improvement to my original 2 path switch. Locking mechanism prevents heavy trains from simply pushing the switch.

Naturally this has small parts and is not suitable for small children.

Assembly steps.

  1. Place the mechanism on a surface facing up.

  2. Insert the arm into the mechanism.

  3. Place the mechanism in the track.

  4. Insert the switch into the mechanism.

Had issues with setting the switch to left. Even for an adult much force was needed, for my 4 year old it was impossible. I used a obby knife to increse the angele so now it works. I made a picture of the "fix"

Sorry to hear you needed a hobby knife to get it working. My original design never had the switch and heavy or fast trains would ignore the switch and just bump the tracks to continue going straight. I added the loving mechanism to force the trains to follow the set path. I only printed it on my printer, but the pieces are tiny and any elephant foot or just differences in printers or pla could make a small enough distance to create a bit more resistance than intended

If the problem was with just the mechanism a reprint with Bambu Pla might work

Replying to @RyeBread :
it is printed with Bambu PLA Basic - the switch is printed with Bambu PLA Wood. I would recomment to adjust the angle on the left side ...

Good, but unfortunately some of the electric locomotives derail because they have a slightly wider wheelbase.

great part only the connectors have a little too much room

It seems like the width of the track is 39mm. There seems to be a small mismatch with other wooden track brands. The normal width that I know of is 40mm. Are there brands which uses 39mm? Thanks in advance
