UPDATE (2023-11-03)

  • Added 10mm to overall length (better ergonomics
  • Changed the front edge angle for a lower approach angle as I needed a lower angle sometimes. This will mean added supports (see image below)
  • Thumb indentation 1mm deeper and improved shape for better printing
  • rounded off back corners.
  • There are two versions. One with pockets for magnets (SCRAPERITE HANDLE_V2_MAG), one without (SCRAPERITE HANDLE_V2)

For magnets: I just used what I had on hand, which aren't very strong, but do the job. You can purchase it here: Aliexpress

Pause at layer 24 (if using 0.2mm layer height) or 2.6mm, insert magnets using double-sided tape then resume.

Supports: add to areas in green.

 

Iterative revision to both suit my aesthetic preferences as well as added a slight functional upgrade with the new grip texture on the sides.

Images show it printed with:

  • 0.2mm layer height
  • Need supports under square holes under the blade + chamfered front edge
  • eSun PLA+, matte
  • Used 4 layers for wall thickness
  • 15% Gyroid infill

The blades fit super tight as per the original model.

Created from STEP file for better resolution of curved features.

Printed nicely, even with my old transparent PETG the support was easy to remove. Plastic blade fits snuggly, thumbs up!

ended up using petg support interface and the blades fit in easily but snuggly. great model!

Ideal for the plastic razor blades found on amazon etc. The first insertion of a blade takes quite an amount of force but with PLA deforming a bit over time the subsequent blades fit perfectly.
