Description

Thanks to the design of the Bambu Lab A1 printer, the nozzle can be switched quickly—one of the key reasons I chose the A1 over other models. After some practice, I can switch nozzles in just 30 seconds.

What I found was that it took me more time to get the nozzle I needed for my print job than to actually switch it. Some days, I have to switch the nozzle multiple times for different jobs. To streamline my routine, I modeled this crossbar-mounted nozzle holder for three nozzles, designed specifically for the Bambu Lab A1 printer. The holder wraps around the top crossbar with hidden snap-on anchors.

Install Instructions:

  1. Check all the anchors are printed ok. There are 4 anchors on each of the 3 u-shaped mounting brackets.
  2. Check each of the anchors to ensure they can be pinched together and spring back.
  3. Mount the u-shaped brackets on the crossbar from below at the location where you want the nozzle holder will be. You can use the holes on the holder to put the 3 brackets at the right spacing.
  4. Engage the back 3 long anchors first. Pushing the holder downward while using your hands to support the mounts preventing them from falling off from the crossbar. Push the holder down until the holder touches the top of the front 3 short anchors.
  5. Push the holder all the way down after aligning the front 3 anchors to the 3 front slots with both hands.
  6. When all 6 snap-on anchors are installed correctly, you should not see large gap between the holder and the 3 brackets.

Hope you will find this nozzle holder useful to your A1 printer.

Came out great. Only using the outer 2 brackets to secure it for now since I plan on eventually removing it for my AMS lite top mount. Thanks!

It looks great! Very nice print. Two brackets are enough. When you have AMS top mount installed, you can install this holder on one of the side, by using brackets 1 & 2 or 3 & 4 by hanging part of the holder outside the cross bar a bit. It should fit that way.

First and foremost, I appreciate him for being kind enough to create a model that fits my needs. It gives me an excuse to buy all the nozzles now! lol The print quality is perfect and the amounts are also quite perfect. It wasn’t hard at all!! once again thank you very very much for that.

I love this model! Echoing another commenter, I also use the 0.8 but I don't have use (yet!) for a 0.6 because I use 0.8 for any large high-flow prints. Would it be much trouble to have another option that just has 0.2, 0.4, and 0.8? Totally ok either way - but otherwise I'll probably buy the 0.6 nozel for a completeness 😅. Sidebar: is 0.6 very handy if you already have 0.2, 0.4, and 0.8? (Aka: should I get one?)

I'm glad that you like this model. I've just posted a print profile for 3 nozzles, 0.2, 0.4, and 0.8 mm for you. It's a very simple work for me. 😉 Hope you'll like it. Regarding your question about 0.6 mm, I've used it as well. In my experience, it's more or less a balance of print quality vs printing time on the same printing object. IMHO, if you can accept the print quality of 0.8mm, you may not need a 0.6mm for now😊

Doesn’t work if you have your AMS Lite top mounted, so instead I put this nozzle holder in between my A1 and P1 for a snug fit.

I really like having my nozzles easily accessible on the top bar of the A1, my only complaint is that the nozzles don't sit very tight and can vibrate around.
