Description

This nozzle holder can be used as a single nozzle holder or group them up to 8 nozzles holders on A1 crossbar.  It's packed with many features and improvements based on users feedback from my first nozzle holder design, the Bambu Lab A1 - Crossbar Mount 3 & 4 Nozzles Holder by 3D-Dreamer - MakerWorld.  This model is one of a kind design. Hope you will like it so much just like me.  😄

Story behind this design:

Thanks to the design of the Bambu Lab A1 and A1 mini printers, the nozzle can be switched quickly—one of the key reasons I chose the A1 series over other models. After some practice, I can switch nozzles in just 30 seconds.

What I found was that it took me more time to get the nozzle I needed for my print job than to actually switch it. Some days, I have to switch the nozzle multiple times for different jobs. To streamline my routine, I modeled the Bambu Lab A1 - Crossbar Mount 3 & 4 Nozzles Holder by 3D-Dreamer - MakerWorld. It is a great model which has received high ratings and positive comments from users.

Unfortunately, some the users who printed this nozzle holder cannot mount it to the crossbar of A1 due to interference with top mounted AMS lite. Instead of top mount the nozzle holder, it is simply placed on the table, next to the printer. One other feedback I hear is about “buzz” sound between the nozzles and the holder when the printer performs vibration test at the beginning of printing. I think I can design a better nozzle holder to solve these. 😊

The born of this, next generation, Nozzle Holder features with these key features and improvements:

  1. Easy to be installed without any need of screws or other hand tools.
  2. It is mounted on and hanged down from the A1 series printer crossbar (nozzle is placed below the crossbar) . Thus, It won't interfere with top mounted AMS Lite (this model has 5mm thick mounting bracket, check the gap between your top mount and the cross bar to confirm you have clearance to use this holder. Let me know if you have questions).
  3. Nozzles are held securely by its won magnetic force!  It is one of a kind design.
  4. User can access the particular nozzle for print job easy and quick.
  5. Each nozzle has it own designated spot. User can tell immediately which nozzle is being installed on the printer with no doubt.
  6. No more buzzing sound while the printing is performing the vibration test at the beginning of each print job or in calibration sequence 🎉🎉🎉
  7. Design is based on modular concept.  User only prints the required quantity of nozzle holders and mount them to the crossbar at the locations best suitable to the individual preference.
  8. Print profile was tested printed with PLA and PETG
  9. It can be print out fast. Two components lay low on bed, single print plate. No support is needed.
  10. Optional scraper holder (separate print profile, magnets are required).  See below for more detail.

The neo magnet on the each of the genuine Bambu Lab nozzle has very strong attractive force. I use this unique characteristic of Bambu Lab Nozzles in this design. 😊

Nozzle can hold itself in place even when the holder is flip completely facing down!

Nozzle can hold itself in place when the holder tilted on its side.

Nozzle attracts itself back to the right holding position by its own magnetic force.

Components:

Mount Bracket - Snap onto the crossbar of A1 series printer.

Nozzle Holder - Use dovetail joint to assembly with the Mount Bracket. It's numbered with large nozzle size.

Paper clip - It is a standard metal paper clip (Long 31.5 mm x Width 7 mm x Thick 0.8 mm).

Magnets (option) - Required only if you need to hold Bambu Lab scraper. Scroll down for more detail.

Installation:

1. Insert a standard metal paper clip into the slot on the Nozzle Holder.

2. Clip the Mounting Bracket to the desired location on a A1 series printer crossbar.  Pull open the bracket just wide enough to engage with the crossbar.  Then use pressing action put snap on the bracket to the cross bar as shown in the video below.

3. Install the Nozzle Holder by sliding it into the dovetail joint on the Mounting Bracket while pressing “close” of the bracket. It should be a slip fit just like the video below. Align the edges of the two components flush to each other.

4. Place the desire Nozzle by placing the “tip” of the nozzle into the dimple on the Nozzle Holder first with the “magnet” side of the nozzle facing towards the Nozzle Holder. The magnet on the nozzle will pull itself to the holder by magnetic force between the magnet and the paper clip hidden in the Nozzle Holder

5. If you need a Bambu Lab scraper holder, you can print the optional Holder to replace the original one.  The scrape holder is on a separate print profile.

Repeat the above for more holders as needed!  😉 I've printed out 5 holders for my nozzles. Two in silver color for the stainless steel nozzles. Three in black color for the harden nozzles. I'm sure you can tell how happy I am with this new creation. 😂  Hope you will like it as me.
