Description

This mask is inspired by the film Snow Queen Mirrorlands and the character Gerda who transforms into a dragon at the end of the movie. My daughter loved this movie and loves dragons. I have printed several in different PLA filaments. The one pictured is a translucent Green PLA meant to be an Ice Dragon Theme. These masks look really good in the bi-colour filaments although tend to be less strong I find because layer adhesion is not as good.

It is sized for a 6 - 10 year old child. It's easy to scale if you want one for larger heads… This model is 120mm temple to temple so if you want to scale it to fit someone who is 140mm temple to temple then in Bambu Studio scale by (140/120=1.167 or 116.7%).

I haven't put holes for elastic because I prefer to either use a soldering iron to melt a hole either side or use superglue to glue elastic onto the mask.

I've used standard supports in this file because I found them more reliable. More recently I've had much more success with auto tree supports so I would probably give those a go to get the print time down and save some material.

This mask is designed using Rhino CAD and the Grasshopper plugin and you can read more about how I designed it here… QuadRemesh Dragon Mask - Gallery - McNeel Forum
