Description

For use with cereal containers sold as Utopia on Amazon, Kichly on Amazon AU and possibly others.

I found a few inserts which said they would work with these containers however none actually fit. So I created these. They are designed to be a friction fit and sit down into desiccant beads in the bottom of the box. I pour in 50g of silica gel beads using my desiccant measuring cup which quickly brings down the humidity in the container.

I have successfully fit-tested round hygrometers with vertical locking tabs (like Bambu sell) and angled locking tabs (like these). Your mileage may vary.

Tips:

  • This print needs good cooling to achieve a clean print, especially towards the top.
    • If printing PLA or PETG on an enclosed printer, open the door and/or top lid.
    • Always print at least two holders at once.
  • Once printing is done, peel the brim off the bottom and remove the tree support. Sometimes a small amount of cleanup may be needed at the top of the hygrometer hole.

Update history:

  • January 17, 2025: Updated model for a better fit in all variants of these Utopia/Kichly cereal boxes.

I also have a fancier insert available for these containers.
