Description
I know, it looks goofy! The odd design is on purpose to help reduce beads going everywhere. It worked out better than expected - I have been testing it quite a lot and have yet to spill a single bead. Even so, the beads are escape artists so be sure to use beads that are non-toxic.
Just fill to the line for approximately 50 grams / 1.75 ounces of silica gel desiccant beads. This amount works great in a single spool sized dry box. It also happens to be about the right amount for typical spool-hole style desiccant holders.
The fill line is raised on the inside so this model is also suitable for single color prints.
When printing with PLA, be sure to open your printer door or top lid, otherwise some of the angled parts can come out a bit ugly.
I have uploaded the CAD for anyone wanting to experiment with changing the size parameters.
