This is an improved version of my Parametric box with cover and customizable cells
In this new release, you can now print your custom box "in place," and it features a hinge that keeps the lid attached to the base.
Now you can choice if you prefer detachable or hinged lid!
If you prefer, you can print the parts separately by disabling the “print in place” option in the customizer. You can then assemble them using some 3D printer filament.
The model still has all the functionality of the previous design, including:
- Customizable width and height
- Adjustable wall thickness
- Custom SVG image engraving on the lid
- Customizable colors for any part (base, lid, drainer, and engraving)
- Customizable cell row and columns
- Customizable advanced cellspan to create you custom cell layout
Plus, you now have the option to choose where you want to place the hinge!

Thanks to @Benz145 for noticing the error and for suggesting me the improvements 2024-10-20Added new options in the customizer. Now, you can add separators to the lid as well, and enable the “minimum-height” printable lid. With these improvements, your items will be more securely stored, ensuring they don't get tossed around during transport. (Special thanks to @taylor.barlow for pointing this out!) |
Important Notice:
If you choose to print with the “enable lid min height” option, the print-in-place feature will not work. This setting will be ignored, and you will need to join the print using a piece of filament.
Bugfix - There was an error when rendering the lid watermark, the watermark was mirrored in the wrong direction. Now it's fixed.
