Description

New Version, more compatibility

New Version, “Version 2”: Will hopefully fit all versions. Test print included in first plate.

Old Version, “Version 1”: Should fit popular model up until mid/late 2023. (Available in Raw files, no print profiles to avoid confusion)

Since there have been many reports of the AMS wall mount not fitting all versions, I set out to make a new version, that hopefully works with all currently available versions of the AMS. I took all the feedback and also looked at what others were doing. Finally I combined all that information into one model.

I was surprised, how many different versions there were:
Shoutout to the creators of many wall mounts, whose models helped me trying to figure out what AMS versions are out there: @Samsonite_859705, @Okietronics, @RolandDeschain, @duck.knapp, @Crowbar45_81105, @Hrumque.

That may even not be all versions, but this is my best guess. All of the Feedback I got for my Version 1 I could trace back to one of these Versions.

My new version is a combination of all designs with some additional tolerances added.

Let me know, if there is an issue.

Original description of Model (Old Version)

Yet another mount for the AMS system by Bambulab. Should work with both AMS variants.
I wanted it to match my wall mounted filament shelf in style and stability.

!! Remember to print one of each side, they are not the same. !!

Features:

  • Fits the “5 slot” AMS that I have (should fit the 3 slot thanks to @Okietronics )
  • AMS sits 65 mm from the wall, so the lid can stay open
  • Lids for the screw holes for a clean look

Print parameters:
Material: PETG/PLA (i use PETG)
Walls: at least 3
Infill: >30 %
Supports: none (screw holes should be fine as is)

Mounting

I highly recommend using screws (diameter 4-6 mm) in combination with washers. This way, the mounting pressure is distributed on a larger area and I don't think that they will ever come off the wall.

The srew holes are 6.5 mm in diameter. The recesses for washers are 18.5 mm in diameter.

Mounting hardware I used:

screws: 5 x 50 mm (flat head)
washers: 6.4 x 18 x 1.6 mm
concrete dowels (bore 8 mm, 45 mm lenght)

You can adapt based on your needs.

Mounting guide (hole spacing on wall):

Honorable Mentions:

  • I was inspired by the two AMS solution of @Okietronics - I only have the version with 5 slots, so I trust their measurement for the 3 slot variant.
  • Thanks for measuring mounting points @Schoko:

1. It's a great design. Unfortunately it doesn't fit as expected. It's in the places marked in red. As a result, it is crooked and does not rest completely on the holder. I'm going to mill something out of the Ams case. 2. Why did you make the width of the shot thinner? I measured 11.3mm and tapered off to 11.0. This has a bit of a lot of air for my taste and could cause the Ams to wobble or tip over quickly. The size of the other holders is 11.5mm and sits tight. 3. The drilling distances that I measured are 335mm wide and 171mm high. You could include these in the description so that it's easier for the next person and doesn't have to measure first.

Hey Schoko, thanks so much for the feedback. I am working on a fixed version just now. 1. I didn't even notice this, but you are totally right. the height should be 8 mm (at least on my AMS) and currently is 11 mm. No excuse here ;) must have been lost during iterations. 2. Initially I had some fitment issues. I found, that the space actually narrows towards the top, very hard to quantifiy. But finally I also think I was too generous on the taper. 3. Good point, will do. Thanks for measuring, I just hold the thing to the wall and have someone to help mark it. Currently printing test parts for the fixed version, will let you know, when its done ;). Beste Grüße

So, new version is up. Everything should be fitting fine now. AMS now sits correctly and the insert is a nice fit with 11.6 mm (11.5 will not print with 0.2 mm layers, I tested the 11.6 and its a nice fit). Thank you again, I will be replacing mine soon ;). I also added a printable 3 mm spacer to glue on to fix the height issue of the old version. You can find it in the raw files (No need to modify your AMS ;) ). For the fit you could just add a bit of tape to the pegs maybe.

Great wall mount that fits my Nov-2023 and Feb-2024 AMS units. These brackets are sturdy chonks. I printed one as specified in the profile and another where I added a wall and bumped the infill by 5% and holding them side by side and giving them a heft, you don't need the extra wall or extra infill. I'm currently working on setting up my AMS units to I can do 8 colour printing on one printer at a time while the other does single colour and being able to swap it back and forth, and these wall mounts are making it happen. Thanks for the great design! PS: I fully expect to get judged for my dessicant solution. xD

Nice to hear that the redesign works well. 8 colors is crazy 😅👍 p.s.: Are your AMS the same, or are there differences (just out of curiosity).

print and fits perfect.

Lovely design. I had to slightly trim the width by roughly 0.6mm, otherwise the fit was too tight. Caps to hide the screws are a nice bonus. The end model is very sturdy at 35% cubic infill and 6 walls.

Pretty nice functional design. Fits my AMS perfectly and the details are solid and rigid printed with PETG plastic. Thank you!

I just got my first 3D printer a few days ago. The mount printed on my P1S combo with Bambu ABS filament. I am now just waiting for the longer data cable and PTFE tube to arrive from Bambu to mount it permanently. I did a test fit and it was perfect. thank you so much for such a great model. I also made a template from your pics and measurements and went in blind. drilled the holes and mounted the brackets. Then put the AMS on it to see I did everything correctly. And it was perfect.

This worked PERFECT for my second AMS. I wondered where to place it and decided to put a shelf behind my printer. Well, then I found this. Awesome fit and look. Here are some pictures for you.
