Here it is! Another retro-style desk clock. I know there are many out there designed by way better designers than me, but for a #wannabemaker, the satisfaction of creating something is sometimes too strong to resist.
This is my version, which I've designed to be as simple as possible to assemble. If you don't count the two hands, there are only 5 pieces to print, and they’re so simple they don't need supports. Plus, given the small size, they print pretty quickly even on older printers.
Everything fits together with simple joints, but I do recommend a bit of glue to make it sturdier.
For the design, I had a lot of fun playing with colors, trying to find combinations that would create a nice light and dark contrast.
The outer shell is printed with a “fuzzy skin,” while for the inner dial, I went with a “zigzag” pattern inspired by a type of infill I'd seen used in other slicers.
The feedback I've received so far has been very positive, but I'd love to hear your thoughts and comments so I can make it even better.
This model is super easy to print and doesn't need any supports or post-processing.
You can print it with a 0.4mm nozzle and a layer height of 0.2mm.
I think it’s obvious, but not all parts of this clock are printable.
The Quartz Clock Movement Mechanisms were purchased on Amazon and are the same ones used for any wall clock.
Here’s the link in case you want to get the ones I used: https://amzn.to/3zjcOf6
Note: I haven’t tested it with the Bambu Clock components Kit 011 yet, so I’m not sure if the dimensions are the same. If you have any issues with the hands, let me know the correct dimensions, and I’ll update the model accordingly.
If you like this model and want to support my work, you can give me a "boost" 🚀 or buy me a [Ko-Fi].
Your contribution, no matter how small, helps me buy new spools of filament for creating my prototypes. ;)
Thanks in advance! :)
